Thad is Good
Thaddeus Young has been on a hot streak. At just 20 years old he's quickly becoming the most reliable scorer on the Sixers' roster. Iguodala is still the go-to scorer in the clutch, but its Thad's consistency that's sparked the Sixers recently. Check out his last 5 games (click to enlarge):
As my man Bob Salmi says (often with the aid of his Salmi-strator): Thad scores consistently without Tony DiLeo calling any plays for him. This has always bothered me (and Freesedogg). If a guy can score without calling any plays, why not start calling plays and creating a favorable matchup? What's the downside?
Now that Thad has emerged as an offensive threat I have a few questions. What position should he play long term? Right now he's filling in at PF for the injured Elton Brand, which has helped Iguodala return to his more natural position. Can (and should) the Sixers keep both of these guys for the long haul? Could Thad be good enough to give the Sixers that star they need to compete for a championship?
