Sixers Sign Donyell Marshall

Yeah. You read that right. The Sixers search for another big body and a three point shooter has led them to one man: Donyell Marshall. Most Sixers fans remember Donyell's 12 three pointers against Philly while he was a member of the Raptors. Marshall can definitely score from the outside, but the 15 year vet doesn't add a whole lot else. He's a decent rebounder and average defender. Either way, outside shooting is something the Sixers were in dire need of improving.

The Sixers are quietly assembling a pretty solid group of role players, not unlike the Celtics of 07-08. Marshall is the kind of guy that can really help this team win. Considering Marshall will be making the league minimum for his age this coming season, this should prove to be a great pickup.

no one expects 12 threes, but in spot-up-from-3 situations, he's better than anyone we had last year.

signing for the minimum is nice. i wouldn't want to spend money on an old shooter who can't shoot the 3 like he used to. but with about 10 minutes a game, better than what we had before.
