Sixers Sign Iggy?

Although it's not confirmed, and ESPN has a habit of running some inaccurate stories, I do trust and respect Henry Abbott. If you don't check his True Hoop blog, you should.

Sources are reporting that the Sixers and Andre Iguodala have agreed to a 6 year, $80 million dollar contract. That is a substantial raise from the approximate $57 million he was offered last year. If it goes through, it appears Iggy played his cards right, which is something not all of of last year's restricted free agents, uh Ben Gordon, can say. Look for more details, as well as an official release from the Sixers.

Iguodala did play his cards right. He put the Sixers in a position where they had to overpay him - there's no way they could let him walk after signing Brand. I just hope he can come through this year and justify giving him this kind of salary.

deng set the market and inflated iggy's pricetag. potsnpans is right. 76ers had to pay him what he was asking, but now we've got the core (lou, iggy, willie, thad, brand, speights, sammy) locked down through 2010/11 and lou, brand and iggy are here until at least 2012/13.

this is a 76ers team built for now and for the next 4-5 years.
