Training Camp Officially Opens Today
Well maybe it only opens for Rookies and selected vets today, but that's good enough for me. The picture above is from PE.com. I'm not sure if its related to Jeffrey Lurie's whole Go Green campaign or not. All I know is that it got me pretty excited for the return of real football (sorry Soul).
Other news and notes:
- DeSean Jackson signed a 4 year deal over the weekend. That means he'll be in camp today. This leaves only Trevor Laws as the only rookie left to sign a contract.
- Let the speculation begin on whether or not Lito will be in camp come Thursday when all veterans are scheduled to report. We know he hired the hated Drew Rosenhaus last week, but we don't know what Lito is planning next. You'll hear plenty of unfounded stories about this in the next few days. I think we won't find out the true story until Thursday actually arrives.
- The Redskins made a pretty solid move yesterday. They traded for Jason Taylor and only gave up 2nd and 6th round draft picks. The 'skins badly needed a DE after their starter Phillip Daniels tore his ACL during the first practice on Sunday morning.

You can expect plenty more Eagles Camp coverage soon. . . .
**UPDATE**
- The Giants have traded Jeremy Shockey to the Saints for 2nd and 5th round picks in the 2009 draft. So while a great pass rusher was added the the NFC East recently, one great TE was shipped out. As an Eagles fan, you have to appreciate not seeing Shockey twice a year, he's a total matchup nightmare. Ultimately looking at the move though, it does make the Saints offense that much more potent. We'll see what happens this season, but I'm getting giddy.

giving up a 2nd and a 6th is a lot for a dude who's making $8 million and has openly said he wanted to just play 1 more year. (i hear that's changed, but i dont buy it)
but they had to do it if they want to be competitive. let's just hope the eagles can stay healthy through their first day.
Yeah, they're basically renting Taylor. The guy was defensive player of the year what? 2 years ago?
Plus Daniel Snider was way below the salary cap and he hated it.
Haha I love the Dan Snider character on KSK.
