Rejected Ideas for the 2008 Phillies Motivational T-shirts

Every year someone in the Phillies club house makes up motivational shirts for everyone to wear. It's supposed to pump the team up and give them something light to rally around. This year's is hilarious:

I don't know who looks more serious, Myers or Burrell.

Pat was the man after the All-Star break, and in the final year of his $50 million dollar deal, hopefully he'll play like a power-hitting, fleet-footed, ladies-man machine and not a slow-running, poor-fielding strikeout machine. He's in Miami being honored for his role in the 1996 College World Series, as well as his 1998 Gold Spikes award for being the top amateur player in the country.

Obviously intended to be humorous, it made me think of what kind of shirts they could have made instead. No sooner had the thought crossed through my head when the doorbell rang and we received a package from an anonymous source. What was inside? Oh, just a few of the rejected ideas for t-shirts for this season. Some are pretty good.

UPDATED WITH MORE SHIRTS

I mean, I know this sure would motivate me for the season, but I'm not so sure the newest Phillie would be so quick to agree.

Why can't it be both?

Here's one addressing Paul Lo Duca. Even though he's on the Nats, it appears there's still some bad blood between him and the Phils. Maybe it has something to do with his bat flip against Cole last season (which the Phillies avenged, thanks to Pat the Met-killer)

One of the two has to explain his outrageous reactions

And here's one about another Met, Billy Wagner. No explanation needed.

His left fist is practicing for some bench-time man-loving

It seems like the Mets are quite a focal point in the Phillies mind, because here's another rejected shirt with the Mets featured exclusively. The homoerotic undertones were coming strong and often.

I didn't write these, we found them. I swear.

Finally, there was a shirt poking fun at Charlie Manual. Personally, I think it was the weakest, but maybe the most true statement.

Was Alzheimer's the reason for bringing in Loshe?

I think they made a good call sticking with the Pat shirts, but I find the humor in the rejects, as well.

it might be in the best interest of the team to get kris drunk and hook up with some chicks, that way they all get a piece of anna and her revenge sex.

on the other hand, that might sort of mess up that chemistry thing they got going...

i read an alternate line for the pat shirt could have read: pitcher or catcher?

that made me LOL a little bit.
